Minimalist Web Design
What are minimalist websites, you say? Well, minimalism means reducing a design to only the most essential elements. And while minimalism spans many disciplines and art forms, for website design, minimalist means breaking things down to the barest elements necessary for a design to function.
I study the space and take things away until nothing else can be removed without interfering with the purpose and goal of the website.
In my web design, I use only elements that are absolutely necessary to a given design. My goal here is to use less to achieve an effect that’s more than the sum of the design’s parts.
I think of what’s necessary to the content and function of the website I’m designing. Then focus on only those things, and omit anything that doesn’t directly contribute to either the content or function. However, since certain design and graphical elements directly affect the readability or usability of your website, I leave those intact.
So in summary, I create simple, unadorned designs that embody only the most basic and fundamental needs and get a clear and powerful message across!
